Description
Valls originates from rock formed by volcanic activity and subsequently transformed through careful craftsmanship. Rather than seeking a uniform geometry, the design takes advantage of the stone's original shapes to preserve much of its raw, natural character.
The exterior retains an intensely porous and rugged surface, with small cavities, reliefs and colour variations that reveal the mineral origin of the piece. In contrast, the interior is carefully worked and polished to create a smoother surface suitable for everyday use. The irregular transition between the two surfaces gives the sink a particularly organic aesthetic.
Cavities, pores, small fissures, differences in texture and variations in tone are inherent characteristics of volcanic rock. They should not be considered defects, but natural features that ensure no two sinks are exactly alike.
With its sculptural appearance and mineral tones, Valls combines particularly well with wood, travertine, microcement and other natural stones. It can be integrated into Mediterranean and wabi-sabi bathrooms as well as contemporary interiors where a contrast between refined architecture and materials in a more natural state is desired.
